Meet Ms. Rebecca Crimmins

Rebecca Crimmins has devoted her studies to Russian Ballet with Cornelia Sampson of Ballet Russe and became a member of the Oakland Festival Ballet Company. While attending Michigan State University, Rebecca performed in such shows as West Side Story, Forum, and Guys and Dolls.
Rebecca choreographed, directed, and performed for the M.S.U. Repertory Dance Company, and the M.S.U. Ballroom Theater. As president of the universities Orchesis Dance Organization, she taught college level dance classes and was resident choreographer for the M.S.U. Summer Stock Theater.
Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors, Rebecca returned home to Shelby Township and began performing with the Detroit/Windsor Dance Company and was also a Clubland Dancer. Rebecca worked for the Detroit Auto Show, the Talent Shop, and Powers Agency.
Rebecca was previously the owner and dance director of the Dance Factory in Shelby Township. She has co-hosted the Rhythm in Motion Detroit Tap Festival, National Tap Dance Day at Hart Plaza and continued her tap training with the St. Louis National Tap Dance Festival. Rebecca has co-organized Dance Gala 2001 and has judged national dance competitions. Rebecca has also been a spokesperson for career day L’Anse Creuse District.
In summer of 2004 at Kids Artistic National Competition, Rebecca was awarded “Chorographer of the Year.” As former Bravo Co-Director, her number “Had The Time” won Top Overall at KAR’s National Showcase. And BDC’s company won Top Overall Secondary Studio.
In the dance business for the last eighteen years, Rebecca looks forward to teaching next year at Bravo and also at Oakland University. She will continue her children’s television show “Come Dance With Me”, where she is host and coordinator on Sterling Heights, Shelby Twp, and Clinton Twp T.V.
