Francessca began her dance training at the age of 7 under the direction of Mrs. Rebecca Crimmins at the Dance Factory. Soon after, dance quickly flourished into her one true passion. She began studying all styles of dance, including tap, hip hop, lyrical, ballet, pointe, and jazz. At the age of 14, She became a member of Bravo Dance Center’s Performing Company, where she remained a member until her senior year of high school.
While in high school, Francessca performed as a dancer in her high school’s musicals, including Forum, Aida, and Seussical the Musical. She and two of her friends were also the creators of the schools Hip-Hop dance team. As the lead choreographer for the team, Francessca found a new love and way of expression through dance with choreography, as well as instructing students.
After following the wise advice of her most recent dance instructor, Mrs. Kelly Seroka, she headed off to college at Oakland University. At OU, Francessca is currently working to complete her B.A. degree in performing arts, with a concentration in Dance, as well as her B.S. in Human Resource Development. To complete the dance program, she is taking valuable classes for dancers, such as choreography, kinesiology, and creative movement for children. She has also performed as a member of Oakland Dance Theatre (ODT), which is run by Laurie Eisenhower, the creator of Michigan’s premiere modern dance company, Eisenhower Dance Ensemble. Through ODT, she is studying yet another style of dance, modern. Francessca is also a member of Intrigue Hip Hop Dance team. Both Intrigue and ODT travel to perform around Michigan, as well as on campus.
Francessca has studied dance in New York at Broadway Dance Center. She has also won several overall awards at many competitions while dancing with BDC’s Performing Company. She strives to continue to take in many new styles, while growing and creating dance with her own personal style. She continues to attend workshops and conventions regularly, in order to stay up to date and in tune with the dance world. With many accomplishments at hand, Francessca is excited to continue her dance education. Her main goal is to share her education, love, and dedication to dance as an art form with her students.
